JUPEB

JUPEB is an acronym for Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board established in 2014. It is an approved and certified Advanced level programme moderated by the University of Lagos in conjunction with other Nine (9) Universities. It was established to cater for candidates who couldn’t gain admission into their preferred institution for one reason or the other or for those who need another alternative to JAMB for University admission.

Like IJMB, thousands of applicants register for JUPEB every year, and about 80% of them gain admission into 200L in their preferred University through the Programme.

Registration Requirements

Any 3 A'Level Subjects

English (Compulsory)

Interested Candidates are expected to select any THREE (3) A/L SUBJECTS (English Compulsory) related to their course of study in the university. Candidates would then be lectured on these subjects for a period of 9 – 10 months and then write the final examination being coordinated by ABU, Zaria (in case of IJMB) and University of Lagos (in case of JUPEB). On completion of the programme with good grade points, candidates can therefore use their IJMB result to secure admission into 200 level in any Nigeria university via Direct Entry. Interested Candidate can confirm from Jamb brochure to see IJMB and JUPEB as a direct entry requirement into 200level.

Eligibility criteria to Apply/Register for IJMB/JUPEB Candidates

With Ordinary Level (O.L) WAEC or NECO results
Awaiting Ordinary Level (O.L) WAEC or NECO results
Seeking admission into any University
Who pass JAMB/Post JAMB examination and unable to secure admission
Who fail JAMB/Post JAMB examination
Deficiencies in English Language or Mathematics
Who do not sit for JAMB/UTME examination at all

Universities accepting JUPEB

IJMB and JUPEB Examinations are highly respected and recognized by various higher institutions both in Nigeria and abroad. The certificates/results are acceptable in increasing number of institutions in the country. The Federal Government, through its various educational agencies, recognize IJMB/JUPEB as an examining body for both Ordinary and Advanced Level Examinations. The syllabus is approved by the National Education Research and Development Council (NERDC) and the IJMB/JUPEB examination results are listed among the acceptable modes of entry in the JAMB brochure.
